2024 Week of the Peacemaker, 11/17-11/23

Inequality by Design: Unfair Housing, Past, Present & Future

For over 40 years Iona University has chosen the time surrounding Veterans Day to dedicate academic and co-curricular attention to peacemaking. Each year the University chooses a theme for its Week of the Peacemaker, and through a variety of activities, conveys this theme in diverse and dynamic ways. The 2024 Week of the Peacemaker will be held from November 17-23.

This year's week will shed light on the causes and effects of inequity and injustice in housing, and include opportunities to learn about what is being done, and what is left to do, in creating a more just system.

The Week of the Peacemaker Committee seeks faculty members whose research/work is related to this year's topic, to consider leading a teach-in during this year's week. Interested faculty members are invited to contact Sean D'Alfonso, Ed.D., at sdalfonso@iona.edu.
