Iona Scholars Day Deadline for Submissions, 2/20
Iona Scholars Day (ISD) is an annual event celebrating the scholarship and creative activities performed by the Iona community. The day showcases faculty-mentored student work and allows students in all disciplines to recognize and appreciate each other's work through oral presentations, panel sessions, performances and poster presentations. This year's Iona Scholars Day is scheduled for Thursday April 16, 2026.
We encourage all students to engage in scholarly and creative work with faculty and to share their work with the Iona community. ISD projects may be initiated as part of a course or as independent collaborations with faculty.
Please note the deadline for Abstract Submissions is Friday, February 20, 2026.
Pop-Up Career Closet, 2/17-2/24
The Pop-Up Career Closet is now open!
The Career Closet is located in the Graduate Lounge on the first floor of the LaPenta School of Business. Students may stop by from noon-2 p.m. from Tuesday, February 17 through Tuesday, February 24.
Students are welcome to grab five items of professional clothing for free for the career fair (on 3/4) and job interviews.
Available items include:

Money Matters: Investing and Insurance, 2/19
Join us for our Money Matters Series on Investing and Insurance with professor Matt Carey. In this session, you’ll learn real-life tips on investing basics, building long-term wealth, and understanding insurance—so you can make smart financial decisions now and for the future. Open to all students and majors!

Black History Month Event: Letters from Anne and Martin, 2/19
Come and be captivated by a two-person performance exploring the parallels between the lives and writing of Anne Frank and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Combining excerpts from Frank's diary and King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail," the Anne Frank Center USA will help us consider shared themes of hope, resistance, and the fight for justice. Iona's own Dr. Natalie Redcross and Dr. Aaron Rosenfeld will help lead a conversation with the actors after the performance.

Lenten Music & Meditation on Haydn’s "The Seven Last Words from the Cross," 2/20
Join the Office of Mission & Ministry, Cox Colbert Teaching Scholar in Residence, Fr. Vaughn Fayle, and Iona students for an evening of Lenten music and meditation based on Joseph Haydn’s "The Seven Last Words from the Cross." The evening will feature compositions for organ, saxophone, and cello, and scriptural reflections from Iona students. Refreshments will be served following the event. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity to begin the Lenten Journey!

The next session for senior portraits is taking place from Monday, February 23, through Friday, February 27, in LSB Room 29-112A. Not only do these make for great memories, you can also use these portraits for your professional networking and job search sites.
Please note that we cannot accommodate walk-ins, so make sure to schedule your photo here.
Information regarding your portrait:
• Sitting will include poses in your own business attire and cap & gown. The cap/gown attire will be provided.
• Please be prepared to provide the photographer with your major at the time of your sitting.
• A $10 fee is due at the time of your appointment (credit/debit card only).

New York State Annual Fire Inspection Beginning On Tuesday, February 24
Each year, Iona University is required to undergo a mandatory Annual Fire Safety Inspection. The purpose of the inspection is to make sure that Iona University is in compliance with New York State Fire Safety Regulations, but more importantly to ensure the safety of all who attend and work at Iona University. This year’s inspection will commence on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, and will continue until completed. Please see here for more details.
Spring 2026 Career and Internship Fair, 3/4
The Center for Career Development invites all students and campus partners to attend the Spring 2026 Career & Internship Fair on Wednesday, March 4, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m., in Mulcahy Gym located in the Hynes Athletics Center.
The Career and Internship Fair is the perfect opportunity to:
• Discover diverse career and internship pathways
• Connect directly with employers from various industries
• Learn what employers are looking for and how to stand out
• Get a professional headshot to elevate your LinkedIn profile

Finance Workshop: How Does Your Idea Make Money?, 2/26
Turn your idea into a money-making reality in this hands-on finance workshop. You will learn how to determine who will pay for your product, what your pricing could look like, and how your idea can actually generate revenue. Through simple tools and real examples, you will break down the numbers, explore different ways to earn money, and walk out with a clearer path to making your idea financially strong.

A View From the C-Suite: Mastercard’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Ellen Jackowski, 3/3
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to a special installment of A View From the C-Suite featuring Ellen Jackowski, Chief Sustainability Officer at Mastercard. With a career leading global sustainability and impact initiatives across major organizations, Ellen brings deep expertise in climate action, social responsibility, and purpose-driven business strategy. Ellen will share how Mastercard is embedding sustainability and social impact across its global operations — demonstrating how organizations can truly do well by doing good. From ambitious climate leadership goals such as reaching net-zero emissions by 2040 to advancing large-scale environmental and social initiatives, she will offer insight into creating business value while driving meaningful global impact.
The event will conclude with a networking reception in LSB Atrium featuring Mastercard professionals who are also Iona University alumni, providing a unique opportunity to ask career questions, build professional connections, and gain firsthand insight into working at a global organization.

Virtual “BTS” School Psychology Talk, 3/4
Join our Virtual Behind-the-Scenes School Psychology Talk to get an inside look at the program from the people who know it best. You’ll hear directly from current School Psychology students alongside the Graduate Admissions team as they share honest insights about the first-year student experience, internships, career opportunities, and the impact of earning this degree. We’ll also dive into a day-in-the-life of a School Psychology student and intern and answer any questions you have along the way. Come hang out, ask questions, and get a feel for what life in school psychology is really like.
