University Council Meeting, 2/25
The University Council will hold its second meeting of the Spring term on Wednesday, February 25, at 3:30 p.m. As with our previous meeting, it will be held in-person in McGrath (LaPenta Student Union), and will follow the newly-adopted meeting format: a handful of reports, followed by an open discussion of select topics. The Council encourages all members of the community to join us and participate in what promises to be a robust discussion.
Spring 2026 Career and Internship Fair
Please encourage students to attend the Spring 2026 Career & Internship Fair on Wednesday, March 4, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m., in Mulcahy Gym located in the Hynes Athletics Center.
The Career and Internship Fair is the perfect opportunity for students to:
• Discover diverse career and internship pathways
• Connect directly with employers from various industries
• Learn what employers are looking for and how to stand out
• Get a professional headshot to elevate your LinkedIn profile

Additionally, the Career Center is offering Drop-in Hours where students can receive help updating their resumes and learn effective strategies for building connections with employers.

For additional assistance preparing for the fair, students can schedule an appointment on Handshake, stop by the Career Center in Spellman Hall, Room 211, or call (914) 633-2462.

Pop-Up Career Closet, 2/25-3/3
The Pop-Up Career Closet will be open weekdays from Wednesday, February 25, through Tuesday, March 3, from noon-2 p.m. All students are encouraged to stop by the Graduate Lounge on the first floor of the LaPenta School of Business to choose five items of professional clothing for free for the Career Fair (3/4) and for job interviews.

Community Iftar for Ramadan, 2/26

Recreation Yoga
Reset your mind and body with yoga every Thursday from 5–6 p.m. in the Hegarty Room. This free, all-levels class is open to all Iona University students and employees and blends mindful movement and breathwork to help improve flexibility, build strength, reduce stress, and boost focus. Mats are provided, so simply show up ready to move and unwind.

Finance Workshop: How Does Your Idea Make Money?, 2/26
Turn your idea into a money-making reality in this hands-on finance workshop. You will learn how to determine who will pay for your product, what your pricing could look like, and how your idea can actually generate revenue. Through simple tools and real examples, you will break down the numbers, explore different ways to earn money, and walk out with a clearer path to making your idea financially strong.

2nd Annual Resident Assistant Symposium, 2/27
We are excited to invite the campus community to the 2nd Annual Resident Assistant Symposium, a celebration of the leadership, growth, and impact of our Resident Assistants. This event highlights the work RAs have done throughout the year as they share projects, experiences, and insights that have shaped their communities. The symposium provides an opportunity to recognize their dedication, learn more about the residential experience, and engage with the meaningful initiatives our student leaders have developed. Faculty/Staff Moderator Needed: Nazareth Farm, March 2026
This spring break, a team of students is visiting Nazareth Farm for a service immersion in West Virginia! The team is seeking a moderator who can drive and support them on their service trip. The experience allows them to learn about economic and environmental injustice and the cultural richness of Appalachia. The team will address substandard housing by providing home repairs and visiting community members while living the values of simplicity, community, prayer, and service. "AI on Campus" with Romelia Flores, IBM Distinguished Engineer (DE) & Master Inventor, Public Market, Client Engineering, 3/2
Use Cases & Responsible Adoption
This session covers the diverse categories of AI tools evolving in the industry and how they are being used by students, researchers, faculty, and administrative teams across higher education. We’ll review proven examples and discuss how institutions can balance innovation with trustworthiness through a responsible AI approach.

Irish Heritage Concert, 3/2

New York State Annual Fire Inspection Beginning On Tuesday, March 3
Each year, Iona University is required to undergo a mandatory Annual Fire Safety Inspection. The purpose of the inspection is to make sure that Iona University is in compliance with New York State Fire Safety Regulations, but more importantly to ensure the safety of all who attend and work at Iona University. This year’s inspection will commence on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and will continue until completed. Please see here for more details.
A View From the C-Suite: Mastercard’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Ellen Jackowski, 3/3
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to a special installment of A View From the C-Suite featuring Ellen Jackowski, chief sustainability officer at Mastercard. With a career leading global sustainability and impact initiatives across major organizations, Ellen brings deep expertise in climate action, social responsibility, and purpose-driven business strategy. Ellen will share how Mastercard is embedding sustainability and social impact across its global operations — demonstrating how organizations can truly do well by doing good. From ambitious climate leadership goals such as reaching net-zero emissions by 2040 to advancing large-scale environmental and social initiatives, she will offer insight into creating business value while driving meaningful global impact.
The event will conclude with a networking reception in LSB Atrium featuring Mastercard professionals who are also Iona University alumni, providing a unique opportunity to ask career questions, build professional connections, and gain firsthand insight into working at a global organization.

Our two-day E-Talk Speaker Series features industry experts who will share their insights and diverse perspectives on entrepreneurship. Students will have the opportunity to engage with these accomplished professionals, learning about the unique challenges and opportunities in various fields. This series is designed to inspire and equip students with valuable knowledge, allowing them to expand their networks and gain a deeper understanding of potential career paths in the entrepreneurial landscape.

Business Model Canvas Workshop, 3/10
The Business Model Canvas Workshop will help you craft the story of your business by mapping out the core elements of a new idea or rethinking the model of an existing startup. Using the Business Model Canvas will help you develop a clear and compelling framework for your business. This workshop is open to all students, even if you’re not participating in the Iona Innovation Challenge. All majors welcome!
