Market Size Workshop, 3/24

Join Stella Alvo, technology entrepreneur, to learn a simple way to figure out how many people might want your idea. Beyond the Red & Blue Divide Series with Jeanne Sheehan Zaino, Ph.D., 3/25

Join us on Wednesday, March 25, at 12:30 p.m. in Romita Auditorium for another talk in our “Beyond the Red & Blue Divide” series. Hosted by Jeanne Sheehan Zaino, Ph.D., "Rescuing Democracy from the Supreme Court" will feature Professor of Law and author Julie C. Suk, J.D./Ph.D.

Julie C. Suk, J.D./Ph.D., is the Hon. Deborah A. Batts Distinguished Research Scholar, Professor of Law at Fordham University. Dr. Suk received her doctorate in politics from Oxford University (where she held a Marshall Scholarship) and her J.D. from Yale Law School. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Harry T. Edwards of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

LSB Service Award for Societal Impact

This nomination form recognizes members of the LaPenta School of Business community whose service reflects a sustained commitment to creating positive societal impact. Nominations should highlight meaningful contributions beyond regular responsibilities that advance LSB’s mission of ethical leadership, community engagement, and the public good. Eligible activities must have taken place within the past three academic years (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2025) and may include initiatives that strengthen communities, promote inclusion and economic empowerment, build impactful partnerships, or address local and global challenges.

NYPISNHS Prom Gear Drive, 3/25

The NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing & Health Sciences is proud to partner with Operation Prom to host a Prom Gear Drive supporting local high school students. In keeping with Iona’s mission of service and our shared commitment to caring for and uplifting others, a value our students put into action every day, we are launching a campus-wide effort to support an important, joyful event of many high school students. This milestone is long-awaited for many students, but it can also bring financial stress for students and their families. This effort, spearheaded by NYPISNHS, is a meaningful way to donate items many of us have but no longer wear and give them a new life while supporting students in our community to fully enjoy this special occasion without added burden.

Until March 25, we are collecting gently used, clean items including:
• Formal dresses
• Men’s formal attire
• Accessories (clutches, costume jewelry)

Funding the Vision: What Every Entrepreneur Should Know About Banking, 3/26

E-Talk with Juan J. Diaz '04

Diaz ’04, vice president at Citizens, has spent nearly two decades helping small businesses and nonprofits secure funding, manage cash flow, and plan for sustainable growth. In this session, he will share insights on building strong financial foundations, developing the right banking relationships, and making smart decisions that support long-term success.

Rosary Prayer Group Meeting, 3/26

The Rosary Prayer group will meet on Thursday, March 26, starting at noon, in the Blessed Edmund Rice Chapel. No experience is necessary, and Rosary beads are provided. This is a great opportunity to learn how to pray the rosary during the season of Lent. All members of the Iona community are welcome.

Spirituality, Sustainability, and Social Justice at Agape Community, 3/26

Join us at either noon or 2 p.m. in Arrigoni Center as we reflect on the connection between spirituality, sustainability, and social justice with Suzanne Belote Shanley and Brayton Shanley. Suzanne and Brayton are the co-founders of Agape Community, a lay Catholic community on 34 acres of land in Hardwick, MA. The community is run on solar power, sustained by an organic vegetable garden, and committed to eco-justice.

Iona University 2026 Student Leadership Conference, 3/27

Join us on Friday, March 27, from 12:30–3 p.m. in Romita Auditorium for Iona University’s annual Student Leadership Conference. This dynamic afternoon will feature leaders from the NBA, Goldman Sachs, and more. Sessions will focus on building strong team culture, effective decision-making, and leadership qualities for success. The conference is open to all students and is required for recognized student leaders. Free food and giveaways will be provided.

Stations of the Cross, 3/30

All members of the Iona community are invited to join the Office of Mission & Ministry and student leaders from various organizations for the Stations of the Cross, a Lenten and Holy Week tradition that offers witness to Jesus’ Passion and Death. Student clubs and organizations offer a prayer at each station as participants walk across campus in reflection. The Stations of the Cross will be held on Monday, March 30, at 12:30 p.m. beginning at the St. Columba Statue. A lunch will be provided at Montgomery House immediately following the procession.

Something Big is on the Way, 3/30

The weather is warming up, the semester is winding down, and something big is on the way. Each spring, Iona University celebrates the close of the academic year with Spring Weekend, a multi-day campus tradition filled with student-led events, performances, activities, and moments that bring the Gael community together.

This year’s celebration will take place April 24–26.

What exactly is happening that weekend? That part is still a mystery. You might hear whispers about music, competition, creativity, and a few surprises along the way—but the full lineup of events will remain under wraps until the official reveal.

Join us at the Spring Weekend Reveal Event on March 30 at 12:30 p.m. on the Murphy Green to be the first to see what’s planned for one of the most exciting weekends of the semester.

Earth Month at Iona

The Committee on Environmental Sustainability is planning a series of ecologically themed events, activities, and teach-ins for Earth Month (April). These events will serve as opportunities to reflect on sustainability on campus and beyond. Gaels Go Further Mentoring Program End-of-Year Celebration, 4/14

New York State Annual Fire Inspection

Each year, Iona University is required to undergo a mandatory Annual Fire Safety Inspection. The purpose of the inspection is to make sure that Iona University is in compliance with New York State Fire Safety Regulations, but more importantly to ensure the safety of all who attend and work at Iona University. This year’s inspection is currently underway and will continue until completed. Please see here for more details.
