Portable Heaters: Important Safety Reminder

Please make sure to turn off and unplug all portable electrical heaters before leaving your workspace. Several heaters have recently been found left on after hours, which creates a serious fire hazard. Any heater found left on will be confiscated and can be retrieved from the Campus Safety Office. Heaters that appear to be in poor working condition will require an inspection by our electrician before it can be returned. Thank you for helping keep our campus safe.

Gaels Giving Day, 3/10

Gaels Giving Day is here — 24 hours to build momentum that carries us through the entire year. Your participation today helps accelerate progress toward our fiscal year goals and strengthens support for the students we serve.

Help Us Identify Future Peer Mentors

The Gaels Success Program is currently hiring Peer Mentors to support first-year students in CDS 1203: Academic Strategies & Skills — and we’d love your help in spreading the word. If you know a student who is responsible, approachable, and enjoys supporting others, please consider:

Recommending them directly to our office, or
Sharing the application link with them

This is a paid leadership opportunity and does not require Work Study. Your referrals help us connect first-year students with strong role models who can make a meaningful impact on their transition to Iona. Thank you for helping us build a supportive Gael community!

NYPISNHS Prom Gear Drive, 3/25

The NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing & Health Sciences is proud to partner with Operation Prom to host a Prom Gear Drive supporting local high school students. In keeping with Iona’s mission of service and our shared commitment to caring for and uplifting others, a value our students put into action every day, we are launching a campus-wide effort to support an important, joyful event of many high school students. This milestone is long-awaited for many students, but it can also bring financial stress for students and their families. This effort, spearheaded by NYPISNHS, is a meaningful way to donate items many of us have but no longer wear and give them a new life while supporting students in our community to fully enjoy this special occasion without added burden.

Until March 25, we are collecting gently used, clean items including:
• Formal dresses
• Men’s formal attire
• Accessories (clutches, costume jewelry)

Donation Locations: Kelly Center Lobby & Bronxville Cafe

Your generosity will help make this milestone both memorable and accessible for local students. Thank you for your support! Questions? Please contact Helena Jaccino at hjaccino@iona.edu.
