For over 40 years, Iona University has chosen the time surrounding Veterans Day to dedicate academic and co-curricular attention to peacemaking. Each year the University chooses a theme for its Week of the Peacemaker, and through a variety of activities, conveys this theme in diverse and dynamic ways. The 2025 Week of the Peacemaker, "Living Iona’s Mission: Fighting the Good Fight for a World in Crisis," is currently underway.
This year's week of events is aimed at raising awareness of and responding to the many concerns across our world that call for action as inspired by the Christian Brothers’ values of presence, compassion, and liberation, and our University’s motto, Certa Bonum Certamen.
