Winter Parking Regulations In Effect
As a reminder, all vehicles parked overnight on campus from December 1 through February 28 must be parked in the parking garage.

Please note that Ryan Library currently has extended hours. Additional holiday and end-of-term hours are listed below.

- Important: During the 24-hour end-of-term hours, between midnight and 7 a.m., the library is a study space only with security on site. Access to the library between midnight - 7 a.m. will require swiping a valid Iona ID card at the Ryan Library front entrance.

University Council Meeting, 12/3
The next meeting of the University Council will take place on Wednesday, December 3, at 3:30 p.m. on Zoom. All are welcome to attend.
You're Invited: Iona University Student Film Festival, 12/3
We are excited to invite you to the Fall 2025 Iona University Student Film Festival. This event is a celebration of the hard work and creativity of our students, a chance to see your film on the big screen, and an opportunity to network with filmmakers. Please join us for an evening of film screenings, awards, community and popcorn!
Date: Wednesday, December 3
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Romita Auditorium
Awards will be presented for Best Documentary Short, Best Narrative Short, Best Directing, Technical Proficiency, and Audience Choice.

The music program is excited to host not one, but two winter concerts this year! Both concerts are in Murphy Auditorium and are free and open to the Iona community. Join us and end your semester on a high note!

Basketball Games & Holiday Festivities, 12/3 & 12/5
Join the Gaels this week as women's basketball squares off with UMass Lowell onWednesday, December 3 at 7 p.m. and men's basketball hosts Quinnipiac on Friday, December 5 at 7 p.m.
Be one of the first 500 in attendance at either game to receive a free tumbler!
All are also welcome to join holiday festivities on Friday, December 5 for the lighting of the creche at 4:30 p.m. on the Murphy Green followed by a Home for the Holidays Gael Gate at 5 p.m. in the LaPenta Student Union.

Closing Reception & Gallery Talk with Artist Joseph Branciforte, 12/3
Visit the Br. Kenneth Chapman Gallery in the JoAnn Mazzella Murphy '98H Arts Center to experience "dependent/variable," a spatial sound installation by Joseph Branciforte.
A closing reception & gallery talk with the artist will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 5-7 p.m.
Lessons and Carols, 12/4
Celebrate the Advent Season at our annual Lessons and Carols event! Join us on Thursday, December 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Arrigoni Center as we welcome in the Advent Season. Join student performers from Iona’s Performing Arts and the Office of Mission & Ministry for a candle-lit, ecumenical service that combines music and scripture readings of the Advent Season. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP here.
Immaculate Conception Feast, 12/8
On Monday, December 8, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. It is when we remember that Mary was conceived without original sin to prepare her to become the Mother of God. It is part of our Advent Journey to prepare to celebrate the birth of the Lord and is a holy day of obligation. There will be a Mass at 12:30 p.m. in the Blessed Edmund Rice Chapel. All are invited.
Quaff & Quill: Book Talk with Whitney Nell Stewart, 12/10
Join the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies for a conversation with historian Whitney Nell Stewart, the executive director of Coastal Georgia Historical Society on St. Simons Island, about her award-winning book This Is Our Home: Slavery and Struggle on Southern Plantations (2023).
This hybrid program will be hosted at the American Irish Historical Society, and a livestream will be made available. Light refreshments will be served.
When: Wednesday, December 10, 2025, 6-7 p.m.
Where: In person at the American Irish Historical Society, 991 5th Avenue, New York City, and livestreamed via Zoom
Spring 2026 Involvement Fair: Reserve Your Table by 12/15
The Center for Student Engagement (CSE) is excited to host the annual Involvement Fair on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mulcahy Gym.
All departments and recognized student clubs and organizations are invited and encouraged to register for a table to promote your area, organization, and/or programs.
Please note that table reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. All registered groups should have a representative present for the full duration of the fair.
To reserve your table, please RSVP by December 15, 2025. Requests received after this date will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and space cannot be guaranteed.

Service Trip to Jamaica
In many countries, children with disabilities are still abandoned or live in deep deprivation. Mustard Seed Communities provides loving, lifelong care to children and adults with disabilities and HIV. Join a team of Gaels who will volunteer with MSC to build relationships with residents and participate in work projects at their homes. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.
Dates: March 14-21, 2026
Estimated Cost: $1,950. Team does fundraising, and some financial assistance is available.

Iona Food Pantry
If you are hungry, you are not alone. Over 30% of university students in the U.S. report that they don’t have regular access to enough food. If you would like to visit the Iona Food Pantry for a free and confidential meal, snack, or for non-perishable grocery items, it is open in Doorley Hall (first floor, Room 118C) on Monday-Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For additional hours, please contact Brother Devlin at jkdevlin@iona.edu or text him at (914) 406-9521.
