Update to Quarantined Email Release Process

To strengthen our protection against phishing, malware and other email-based threats, we are making an important update to how quarantined emails are managed.

Effective immediately, users will no longer be able to self-release quarantined emails. This change follows an increase in sophisticated phishing attempts that can closely resemble legitimate messages and may pose a security risk if released unintentionally.

If you believe a legitimate email has been quarantined, please contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@iona.edu or submit a request via the IT Self Service Portal. When doing so, include the following information to help us review your request promptly:

• Sender’s email address
• Subject line
• Approximate date and time the message was received

Our team will review the message and release it if it is determined to be safe.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping protect the Iona University community.

If you encounter any issues or need additional support with assistive technology, please contact the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@iona.edu

Quaff & Quill: Book Talk with Zara Anishanslin, 1/21

The war that we now call the American Revolution was not only fought in the colonies with muskets and bayonets. On both sides of the Atlantic, artists armed with paint, canvas, and wax played an integral role in forging revolutionary ideals. Zara Anishanslin charts the intertwined lives of three such figures who dared to defy the British monarchy: Robert Edge Pine, Prince Demah, and Patience Wright. From London to Boston, from Jamaica to Paris, from Bath to Philadelphia, these largely forgotten patriots boldly risked their reputations and their lives to declare independence.

Join the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies for a talk with Professor Zara Anishanslin(University of Delaware) about her new book “The Painter’s Fire: A Forgotten History of the Artists Who Championed the American Revolution” (Harvard, 2025) to learn about an extraordinary cohort of artists whose experiences testify to both the promise and the limits of liberty in the founding era.

Light refreshments will be served. This is a hybrid event. Please join us in person at the Thomas Paine Cottage Museum (20 Sicard Avenue, New Rochelle) or online via Zoom.

When: January 21, 2026, 6-7 p.m.
Where: Thomas Paine Cottage Museum, 20 Sicard Drive, New Rochelle, NY or via Zoom
