Mission Trip Moderators Wanted
Do you want to inspire students to make a difference and join them on a journey of growth, service, and discovery? The Iona in Mission program needs dedicated faculty, staff, or administrators to join us as moderators for our upcoming service immersions!
About the Trips
Immersions take place during winter, spring, and summer breaks, as well as some weekends. Service activities range from home repair projects to serving meals to those in need. Teams travel to domestic and international locations for about 5–10 days and are led by a student Immersion Leader. Moderators participate in service, offer a supportive presence to the student leader, and serve as the group's emergency contact. Lodging, meals, and transportation from Iona are included.
Immersion trips offer a unique opportunity for students to learn through service, connect with new cultures, and develop leadership skills.
Submit an interest form today.
Contact IIM coordinator Laura Fairchild at lfairchild@iona.edu with any questions. Additional details can be found on the Iona in Mission website.
Columba Parking Lot Exit Closure Notice
As construction work on the Upper Green continues, periodic closures of the Columba parking lot exit are expected over the coming weeks. When the exit is closed and coned off, please use the McSpedon roadway as the designated alternate route to exit the parking lot. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete these improvements safely and efficiently.
Reminder: Accessing the New MyIona Portal
As a reminder, to ensure you're accessing the latest version of the MyIona portal that launched on June 22, 2026, please use the URL my.iona.edu rather than any saved bookmarks or previously used links.
If you experience any issues accessing the updated portal, please review this email or reach out to the Help Desk.
Reserve Your Table for the Fall 2026 Involvement Fair by 8/3
Reserve your table by Monday, August 3, for the Center for Student Engagement’s annual Fall Involvement Fair – one of the most exciting and well-attended events of the semester.
The Involvement Fair is a valuable opportunity to showcase your organization, department or program and connect with students eager to get involved on campus. Students will explore the wide range of co-curricular opportunities available at Iona, learn more about your initiatives and discover ways to engage throughout the academic year.
Table reservations are first-come, first-served, and space is limited. Late requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. All departments, programs and recognized student clubs/organizations are encouraged to participate.
We recommend bringing:
- An interactive activity to engage students
- A calendar of upcoming events
- Contact information for interested students
All groups are expected to have representation for the full duration of the event.
For more information, please contact the Center for Student Engagement at (914) 633-2360 or email studentactivities@iona.edu.
When: Thursday, August 27, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Mandatory Student Employment Supervisor Training Opportunities
In order to ensure a positive work experience for student workers, Student Financial Services and Human Resources conduct regular trainings on the student hiring process. This mandatory training covers how to enter a job in NextGen, the steps a student will need to take to be properly hired, how to review and approve time sheets, and how to track federal work study. We leave plenty of time for questions as well.
If you are a new supervisor (primary or secondary), anticipate supervising student employees during this academic year, or simply need a refresher, please contact Jennifer Connolly at jconnolly@iona.edu to obtain the Zoom link.
The training sessions are scheduled as follows:
- Tuesday, November 17, 2026: 11 a.m.–noon
Thank you for taking the time to attend this important training, which will ensure a smooth and positive hiring experience for all our student workers.
