Earth Day Celebration, 4/22

Mandatory Student Employment Supervisor Training, 4/22

Student Financial Services will be offering mandatory training for all student employment supervisors on Wednesday, April 22, from 1-2 p.m. on Zoom. If you are a new supervisor (primary or secondary) or anticipate supervising student employees during this academic year, please contact Jennifer Connolly at jconnolly@iona.edu to obtain the Zoom link.

Quaff & Quill: Book Talk with Emily Sneff, 4/22

Join us for a presentation and discussion with Emily Sneff, early American historian and leading expert on the Declaration of Independence. Sneff’s latest book, "When the Declaration of Independence Was News," focuses on the nation’s founding document at the moment of its creation in 1776, before anyone knew what the legacy of the Declaration would be or if the United States would win the war against Great Britain. It explores how the Declaration was communicated and reveals the stories of the many people involved in the process of declaring independence, from printers to soldiers to diplomats to translators.

Presented in partnership with the Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association. Light refreshments will be served.

Montgomery and Mayflower Lot Closures, 4/23 & 4/24

Please be advised that Facilities will be repainting the lines and arrows in the Montgomery and Mayflower parking lots this week. To ensure the work is completed safely and effectively, lots will be closed beginning the night before the scheduled work and will remain closed until the paint is dry and ready for use.

Scheduled Closures:
Thursday, April 23: Montgomery Lot will be closed for the entire day.
Friday, April 24: Mayflower Lot will be closed for the entire day.

Please plan accordingly and utilize alternative parking areas on these days.

Hands Around Iona, 4/23

Join the Office of Mission & Ministry for our annual Hands Around Iona gathering on the Murphy Green. This year, Hands Around Iona will feature live music performances from student bands, food samples from Peruvian and Tex-Mex cuisine, and a travel basket raffle and giveaways. The proceeds from this year's Hands Around Iona will go to benefit the Christian Brothers schools in Peru and Brownsville, Texas.

NYPISNHS Blood Drive - Bronxville Campus, 4/23

The NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing and Health Sciences, along with the NY Blood Center, is happy to announce that we will be hosting a Blood Drive and Health Fair on Thursday, April 23, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Please join us in the Sommer Center on the Bronxville Campus to help support this important cause. All are invited to donate and appointments can be scheduled through the donor portal here.

As a reminder, the Gael Express offers service between New Rochelle and Bronxville Monday-Friday.

Iona Music and Dance Programs Present: "RESIST!," 4/23

Mark your calendars for "RESIST!" — featuring the University's Dance Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra! "We Are Gods: Awakening the Creator Within" Book Signing and Author Talk, 4/24

Join the Office of Mission & Ministry for this Make a Difference Week event with Iona alumnus Frank Saia. Saia is a writer, speaker, and chief executive officer of New Solutions Network, a network of interconnected initiatives that integrates science, technology, storytelling, and human transformation. Join us to receive a copy of Saia’s book "We Are Gods: Awakening the Creator Within" and hear more about his story.

Solidarity in Action: A Conference on the Dignity of Refugees and Migrants St. Catherine of Siena Environmental Summit, 4/25

The Center at Mariandale is hosting a conference on promoting the dignity of refugees and migrants on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Through its keynote address, a panel of grassroots refugee workers and concurrent sessions, this conference will examine the ongoing crisis surrounding migration in the United States. This conference is free of charge, and breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided. Celebrate the Pipe Band’s 60th Anniversary, 4/25

Join the Iona community for a memorable evening at the Pipers’ Ball on Saturday, April 25, from 7–11 p.m. in Mulcahy Gym. Open to all members of the Iona community, this special celebration commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Iona University Pipe Band and honors decades of tradition, music, and camaraderie. Enjoy dinner, live performances, and the chance to reconnect and celebrate together.

About the Play
After several years abroad, Helen Alving’s son, Oswald, returns home from Paris carrying an unspoken burden. As Helen works to build an orphanage in honor of her late husband—whose disreputable past continues to cast a long shadow over the family—she and Oswald become entangled with Reverend Manders, the housemaid Regina, and Regina’s father, Engstrand. Each character guards private deceptions and long-suppressed truths begin to surface.

Iona Sings and Swings, 4/27 & 4/28

Join the Iona University Jazz Ensemble and Iona University Vocal Ensemble for a concert of swinging solos, and full group numbers of some of their favorite music. Led by award-winning professor Jillian Willis, these groups will end your academic year on a high note! This concert is free and open to all members of the Iona community.

Songwriters Showcase, 4/29

Students from the Iona University Music Program present a concert of original songs and compositions. Blending diverse influences including classical, jazz, rock, RnB, and country, students will premiere works crafted in the Songwriting and Composition seminar during the Spring 2026 semester. Join us as we end the semester on a high note!

Student Film Festival, 4/30

Get ready for a night of cinematic storytelling, creativity, and competition! IUTV and the Media and Strategic Communication Department are proud to present the 3rd edition of the Iona University Student Film Festival. Join us as we showcase the incredible talent of our student filmmakers and celebrate the power of visual storytelling on the big screen. On Thursday, April 30, 6:30 p.m. in Romita Auditorium. The screening concludes with an Awards Ceremony presided over by a jury of film and media professionals. 

Judges, as well as audience attendees, will designate awards for:

  • Best Documentary
  • Best Narrative Short
  • Best Music Video
  • Technical Proficiency
  • Audience Choice

Your voice matters! Every attendee will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite film in the Audience Choice Award category. Come support your peers, discover new perspectives, and help decide who takes home the award.
