NUR 4300 - AX - Transitions into Prof Nursing

The capstone course integrates didactic and clinical learning to support the student nurse in the transition into nursing practice. Students focus on cultivating a professional identity and explore topics that include career planning and preparation, life-long learning, personal health, professional behaviors, and licensure responsibilities. The capstone requires students to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attributes gained throughout the program. In clinical, student/nurse preceptor dyads provide students opportunity to develop a professional identity and appreciate the nurse’s role, responsibilities, and associated nursing actions that effect positive patient outcomes, personal satisfaction, and professional growth for an effective transition into practice. This course prepares the student nurse for the transition to a graduate registered nurse.
